I remember first trying Wine - I actually installed (well, compiled) XFree86 just to try it - I was proper cli-only in those days. After a long weekend of compiling, I was finally able to run a very slow instance of mIRC - for less than a m

Not sure if they're purposefully blocking uBO. Those who are effected will either move to Firefox (and encourage their friends to), or just use another content-blocking technique (eg, DNS). For the few extra ad clicks they'll ga

It's becoming the new PHP, where "classes" are an after-thought and there's a beginning of a "frankenstein's monster" of features pulled from other languages. Having said that, looking at the code sample i

I, on the other hand, am happy with this. It means not depending on a 3rd party (whose motivation or trustworthiness may fluctuate), it's easier to re-use code form other projects, and we don't have to worry about "what versi

Most IDEs handle dual screens handle multiple screens very well, usually by supporting multiple windows and allowing tabs/panels to be detached and moved between them. If not, it's a flaw of the IDE not the monitor setup.

Right? I said "the protocol is unknown unless it has been published". HTTP has been published. No one has said nor implied that OSS had any effect on the protocol. The assertion was, the patcher was thankful it was open source. If
