That's what code reviews are for. Unless you're working directly on a live server.

Right. Let's assume you're going to need to upgrade sooner or later - the longer you leave it, the harder it gets. Best to upgrade and discover dependency issues during dev/staging, than try to fix many months worth of them w

That's your problem with pairing - you're able to think deeply, so pairing is a hindrance to you. The majority of developers, in enterprise at least, tend to write the first piece of code that enters their head, and they only cons

But for the job in question, this kind of stuff isn't memorisable factoids. Knowing what these 2 tags are for is fundamental, the wording of the attributes are vaguely self-descriptive, and recognising CSS from HTML is instinctive. You

This is basic stuff. Perfect answers aren't required.. it's just whether or not you can have a conversation on something technical which you ought to be, according to your job title, at least vaguely familiar with. Don't take

Sure, it's not a very nice thing to say. However, if this tweet is the one that makes you "grossly offended", then you've lived a very sheltered life, and should perhaps limit your internet usage. I suspect the majority

That's fine. My scripts tend to run on a single machine.. otherwise, probably the same/similar Linux distro. So for me, if there's not even bash then I've also surely not accounted for other peculiarities on the system.

My take on that, was the host creation should be simple enough to only require bash.

Yes, well if a script I wrote has somehow ended up on a machine without bash, then I'd be more worried about other assumptions the script makes.

Perhaps the point was, learning C is more of an eye opener than an actual skill. You're going to have to try hard to actually program something in C in the majority of jobs. On the other hand, you'll have to try hard to avoid any
