Thanks! As you say in that section, "Open source licenses usually grant users permission to use open source software for any purpose." These source-available licenses (SSPL/BSL) are not open source exactly because of that: th

All the BSL/SSPL ones shouldn't be in an "open source" section. Just change the heading to "source available" or put them with the "vendors".

Yes; when I first read the post I didn't know yet if her offer was rescinded. By the time of the second comment I called her and found out that it was indeed rescinded.

It's not like all the offers that were rescinded were made before the crash. This is not exucable with the market crash, it's simply poor form and bad planning. They simply should've not made those offers. Her offer was resci

I have a good friend who has just graduated from college and is affected by this. It's extremely stressful for her and a very rude entry into the professional workforce, it's already rough enough for her. I'm not sure yet if

NVIDIA knew a lot of their GPUs were bought for crypto mining, but attributed those sales instead to growth in gaming, potentially misleading some investors (maybe they wanted to invest in gaming, not the very volatile crypto industry). Thi

The thing people care about is the AFR over time: like actuarial life tables. These updates always make it a bit hard to figure that one out: the tables show "average life" and AFR; it makes no sense to compare drives of different

I don't think this is a compelling argument. It's an extremely inefficient way of producing those "useful byproducts". A person fixing and tuning the same old car for years?

That's the downside and I'm by no means suggesting someone should do this unless they really want to! The comment was more for those who really do want to. But yes: I do that. I personally think it's very interesting to see w

Any advantages to gRPC-web? We've been using it for a while and it's a bit clunky, but it works. We stick envoy in the middle for gRPC-web <-> gRPC; what do I need for Twirp?

No, Stripe is a payment processor; they don't want to deal with issues moving your money around. They do their best abstracting the country- and payment method specific stuff to make it easy for you to accept people's money, but n

I'd imagine the threshold is a lot higher. Remember that Apple is in the end a hardware company and it makes sense to give up revenue/pay a fair bit for the legwork of their privacy marketing.
