The brain's ability to be "Disciplined" varies widely based on genetics. IT careers seem to attract those with executive function disorders more than most fields.

I've pondered the above statement for a bit. It could go either way. From a demand side (hiring), it's very positive. "We have increased our talent pool AND lowered cost." Win-win. From a supply side (employee/contr

As an EMT who may some day use this, I respectfully disagree. This network is for first responders, not some arm of the military. This sort of system will be used to respond to terrorist attacks, not support them. It will literally be used

The Republicans are (and have been for almost a decade) trading human suffering for political gain. Keeping up with medical bills for a serious illness can be a full-time job. It's tragic, and until everybody after the baby boomers wak

These chatbots have the same issue as in the movies - the lips don't move out for many of the "R" or "U" sounds. It's very annoying. I really don't understand why they don't do that, there's obvi

The wife and I are coffee nuts. To some extent, anyway. We also like to go "camping" in an RV. I used to do french press, but the ground beans would get old too quickly and I don't have much interest in a grinder inside a tin

Send vintage telegrams by contacting a radio amateur. The US still has a large and active group of volunteers that will send a "radiogram" for you. Contact a member of the American Radio Relay League near you or see arrl.org for m

I'm back with a bit more information, discussing applications. Which mostly seem to be other X-as-a-service offerings. Microsoft has a blog related to their blockchain-as-a-service at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us&#

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are quite amazing. Whether they are the "end game" for their technologies has yet to be seen. But we are only beginning to see the applications of this technology. Bitcoin was more or less the first to pr

I and my family were forced off of road because of an Obama sticker on the back. Don't tell me Trump supporters are any more tolerant than that. Maybe where they are a minority, sure, but in the red states there is plenty of straight u

Isn't this what the "Web of Trust" issue addresses? Sure, it's complex and would take a lot of time to understand and propagate, but it's a possible solution.

I too often see a fundamental misunderstanding of what made Delphi so great. Yes, you can drag and drop controls onto a form in a lot of tools. It can compile native code. And yes, Object Pascal was nice to read and maintain. But the real i

After buying a lot of backpacks, I settled on the 5.11 12 hour RUSH as a good compromise in size. It is just large enough for my Dell XPS 13, or probably most 11-12 inch laptops. Plus it has a lot of organizational features and flexibility.
