I can agree with this. I haven't used sourcetree, so my post was inherently biased in the respect. If it does have all the advanced features, that's awesome. I still stand by my point though - you should know how to use git from command lin

Direct commits to github repo. We usually have a master and develop branch as well as smaller branches for separate features if needed. These are not massive enterprise scale projects, and usually there are 2 to 4 devs working on it at once

To be fair that was an unreasonable statement and I was stating my opinion as fact. I should have said "in my opinion the best git app out there". As far as I see it, it's the most accessible and well designed, which is the entire purpose o

I still totally disagree with both of these comments, although I read them a couple of times and tried to shake my "this is my opinion" view. I think it's REALLY important for devs to learn command line. The only situation in which I could

I dont make commits that large or complex, and if you were to ask my opinion I would say you shouldn't be. I don't write 3 pages the save my word document, I save almost every couple sentences. This makes life easier for me as far as keepin

Wow! Did not expect this to be upvoted, or all the hate that came out of this. Allow me to respond: I have never collaborated that way, when I work with other devs (which I do full time), we make a project repo and push and pull to that rep

I'm making one right now. But it's not a standard framework, it's a sass framework, so the 'utility classes' are pushed back to css mixins and they take parameters so they are all super flexible. I'm really excited to put it out and it's ge

Agree completely. I've made a few posts saying exactly this, but they haven't picked up enough upvotes to hit the front page : ( http://blog.jenius.me/post/18909693841/to-bootstrap-or-not-t... http://blog.jenius.me/post/17162410587/stop-

This absolutely sucks in every way. The icons suck, they aren't clean, clear, flexible, or well made. The styles suck, they are too basic to even be useful - we can all put a 1px border or border radius on an element. And it's not innovativ

I couldn't agree more and was about to make a comment like this. Bootstrap does not mean that you don't need a designer or time to think about UX, and it makes me ill to see all these sites coming out with no thought put into design or ux t

Quote from the article: So you set up your easel and get out your paints in front of a nice-looking house and start to puzzle over how to start. Suddenly 500 other people all arrive -- some of them who actually know how to paint -- and set

Yeah same, found it like 3 days ago and was like thank god. I'm going to create a fix for IE7, whether it's a polyfill or sass wizardry, and I'll make a post about it when I do. Easy fluid responsive layouts for all!

I disagree entirely, and explained why in this post. It doesn't accelerate development, it takes it over. Boostrap is not flexible. You write code their way and if you honestly want to customize the core, it's going to be just as much troub

I agree with this completely - it's too branded and shackles you in development. I am working right now on a solution that gives you the ability to quickly prototype with nice looking styles, but is much more flexible and modular and gets o
