I once got a talk demoted from a normal talk to a lightning talk at some unrelated conference to make it work with the schedule. That was indeed not nice. But also not "Cruelty". I just acted professionaly and accepted the change.

I live near an intersection, and the most annoying noise is honking. Why do driver have to honk so much is beyond me. Also quite annoying is ambulance/police. They are really loud.

There are ok bindings to some toolkits such as Qt and Gtk, which are the most mature right now. But there is promising progress also in full rust GUI libraries for example Slint or egui

It's a bit the same as with time, multiplication of the time of the day don't make much sense. I started the work at 1:20 pm, but my colleague started three times later, at 4pm.

The original design had no allocator on collections and no alloc crate. If you cares about allocation, you'd use your own data structures with your own allocator in a no_std binary. The alloc crate came later, and the custom allocator

There are some "real" physical force that do not depend on the reference frame and are caused by some law of nature. And there are pseudo-forces that are just a mathematical artifact of a non inertial référence frame. Gravity is a

The idea is that instead of shipping electron, you ship a native binary that use egui without using wasm or the canvas. Egui only use wasm in situations where you must use the user browser because you have no choice. Eg: showing a demo of t

People dont't simply use CSS and JS to build UI for web apps, they use web frameworks that comes with their share of supported components. And there are also a bunch of these framework to choose from, they come and go.

Desktop solutions don't use wasm/canvas for their primary use. Although you can wasm to compile it for web demo, they are primarily meant to be used as native apps outside of a browser. I know Slint and egui have accessibility sup

I think that's a fair definition of a force. But I'd say that the force that eventually moves the needle is not gravity, but the one that the table applies to the scale to prevent it from going down.

Maybe indeed electromagnetic charges curves space time as well, is there a theory for that? According to general relativity, in absence of forces, an object follow a geodesic in space-time. Which we approximate to an uniform motion in strai

But gravity isn't really a force. In the same way that inertia is not really a force. It's just an artifact of the coordinate system being curved.

There is no such things about forcing policies for conferences in the current trademark policy. (You're getting confused with a proposal that is being re-worked) And even if there was it's hardly a deal breaker to use the language

That's not sound in general, but it is "probably" going to work for this specific case because the previous build was build with allocator that did not support this alignment, meaning that they did not need extra alignment. T
