Don’t feel like you should apologise for the expense. I see people driving round in cars that cost $100k+. I think this is insane , but it’s relatively normal. Spend your money on things that make you happy.

Every question? If it’s returning results that were obvious, why were you asking the question? And I don’t believe that the other ~50% were wrong. > The only thing these engines do, for me perhaps, is save some search time so I don

Your fault for leaving them out! Although we were respectful of each other’s stuff. We were best mates so it worked out.

When I lived with a mate we each had a drawer in the kitchen. This place had weirdly deep drawers, two of, stacked. Perfect for this. If I saw his junk lying around, it went in his drawer. Far more often if he saw my junk lying around, it w

I presume you’re indicating what an outstanding bargain this is? For something you look at the entire day? Every day? Seventy five bucks, once? I have the full licence as I use this typeface professionally. It’s the best money I’ve ever spe

After doom-scrolling Covid all through 2020, I stopped reading all news at the start of 2021. I haven’t deliberately visited the home page of a news organisation since. It’s not a hard ban. I’ll click a link someone sends me, not that peopl

When that happens, I’ll start to care (because I’ll have to). Until now, please, friend, this isn’t something you need to lose sleep over. Assuming I’m not talking to the CEO of Unilever.

As an Australian, I kicked the tyres on a few of these products and quickly realised that I didn’t care. Didn’t care about my supposed tax liability in Saudi Arabia. I think I owe those guys $7. Come and get it. Or in Serbia. Or the EU, mor

For those nostalgic for this era, go give Neil some money for his epic typeface Berkeley Mono. He work(s/ed?) at NASA. https://berkeleygraphics.com/typefaces/berkeley-mono/

Do you have any idea how much it costs to lay out, print, and distribute a 200+ page book? Hint: somewhere in the region of $100. Get yourself a PDF if you want. A PDF isn’t a book.

Oh, Australia's Kogan -- a wannabe Amazon -- has you beat there. When you buy anything, you're back on the list. No questions. No option. No chance of not being. You just are. And it's a really aggressive list. An email a day

I was just at Coles, one of Australia's big 2 supermarkets. 50% of the self-serve terminals were down. Presumably the others aren't far behind. Total chaos.

Show me a million-view TikToker that does it unedited with no files. They might exist. I don’t watch TT, I’m happy to be wrong. But MKBHD, Justine, Mr. Beast, CGP Grey — you name ‘em, they use files to edit a production.

Right, but those videos are amateur and get 200 views on TikTok. You want to produce a video of any quality at all? You're using files.

I find a timer useful for this. If you use Timery, you get a live activity on your home screen. I don't care how long a thing takes, and I don't retrospectively analyse the time. The point is that I can only have one timer running

I’m sorry, I was condescending. My bad. I do miss the Windows ~NT/2000 every-word-has-an-underlined-letter-that-you-can-use-with-the-alt-key era. Last time I used Windows (10) that felt like it was going away? Vestiges exist but they’r
