The chance of this not having a fork keeping security updates running is effectively zero.

Given that Ryanair used to charge to print a boarding pass at the airport, it seems pretty likely their response will just be to do so again. This is a company which literally hates its customers.

To be clear, Apple and Google both have huge UK presence. I don't know the extent of Google, but Apple has offices with thousands of people working in them. Compliance with what the UK wants in this regard is not optional. What the ori

The other day I clicked "share" on a PowerPoint presentation saved in OneDrive, and it reverted to a version several hours old, losing that work. This is a typical experience using any of the Office products. Copilot is not "

Longbridge is not inherently a worse place to manufacture cars than Munich, South Carolina or even Detroit.

Indeed, I also believe that to be the case but went with the trivial counterexample! Probably best to be explicit though.

> collect money from UK citizens This is quite obviously incorrect. I am a UK citizen, but live in the US. No company needs a UK presence to collect money from me.

Manifestly not - Cuomo ran as an independent, and a Republican did run.

That is the major difference - clients track their read offsets rather than the structure removing messages. There aren't really "listeners" in the sense of a pub-sub?

To be any use staging environments should be scientific tests. They should prove that a given change, if it goes to production, will work. You cannot do this if you're changing more than that one thing. The only way to make this work r

I don't know about "not targeting enterprise" being the problem here - it's super common to find "enterprise" .NET APIs that return 200 for every possible condition and put some error text as a JSON blob in the

Then you’d have to trust that the option does what it says on the tin. My default for companies besides Apple is not to, too many scumbags have poisoned the well.

You really can trivially do UniFi protect. Barely even have to know networking. I have it along with vtech monitors, works flawlessly.

Of course you don’t need it. But it’s very useful, especially living in a house with a layout that doesn’t lend itself to hearing a pin drop in the next room. The v-tech ones are fine though. No need for anything with an Internet connection

I do indeed think that there is unlikely to be a single professional model in a Best Buy - a Thinkpad, a professional-grade Dell without crapware preinstalled, a System76 or a Framework. The exception of course is actually a Mac, which you

It is in fact very difficult to buy a professional grade computer of any kind from Best Buy, let alone something like a Thinkpad with reasonable specs. You might luck out and be in a city with a micro center, but you probably won’t. If I’m

PC Plus in the days of Paul Stephens (RIP) and Dave Pearman was hands down the best computing managazine around. I believe I have every issue from -1994-2000 with the exception of Feb 97 (long story) but these ones predate me sadly.

I would be interested in a follow up in 2-3 years as to whether you've had fewer issues with a multi-cloud setup than just AWS. My suspicion is that will not be the case.
