It's likely a result of a cheap host server not being able to handle the traffic. Not a reflection of OP's programming abilities.

People use their mobile phone for apps more than they do for browsing the web? Really? No shit. Show me that people are using their mobile apps more than they're using their desktop/laptop browsers and you'll have something to write about.

So he "hacked" the system? No? ... Oh, he was the first to do this then? No? ... Hmm, Oh wait, his dad is a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination? So it's an advertisement. Why is this on the front page?

I think that misses the point. The author wants MS to change and is attempting to get their attention via this post. Whether or not the author will actually pirate the software is moot.

>Nope. RAID is not a backup solution. OP isn't saying RAID is a backup solution. RAID is being used as a component within the backup solution (the server).

Defending your preference is not the same as letting your preference "dictate how we think about and relate to other people."

All are examples of why one might defend their preference, which isn't the issue. I quoted the issue; why one would allow their preference to "dictate how we think about and relate to other people."

Business answer: With everything, including this, there needs to be a balance. The ROI on documenting every single inch of progress as accurately possible is extremely low in most cases. Additionally every case (industry, business, project)

Pure speculation: The hole is for, as you said, pressure differences. The head uses air pressure to float above the platter. Changes in pressure could bring the head closer/farther away from the platter which could have unwanted consequence

The point you're painfully missing is that success of a company (including Groupon) isn't dictated by how much or little technology they use. If you feel Dairy Queen was a bad metaphor for that, then I apologize for your confusion.

Don't get caught up on the metaphor. It's ice cream. That was the point. If you, or anyone else, wants to explain why Groupon is doomed, then do so without saying the reason is because it's "not based on any real technology". That's the com
