The latest Firestick software update is a great example of this. The new UI/UX aggressively de-prioritizes apps from content producers in favor of a "feed" that lets them push their own content and intermediate content produc

An interesting thought but unlike film one cannot arrive in a new town and put on a show for tens to hundreds of people with one piece of equipment. Both the gear and the physical space required are serious bottlenecks.

There isn't enough time in the day to be an FTE and run a consulting company. But there is enough time to do your FTE work and then go out at night and network your ass off to get a large consulting contract of some sort. I.e. actually

What I saw in the documentary were a lot of hard-working, non-technical people that were offered the chance to work in a "tech" startup. Without knowing it explicitly, they were betting on WeWork having a moat like Facebook, Googl

AWS may be the gold standard for hosting but I still recommended most startups start with Heroku for their hosting, especially since they add the code pipelines. The amount of VC dollars I have seen wasted on re-inventing the wheel of hosti

The risk I see for Substack is that if a writer has enough ad revenue in parallel to their Substack subscriptions they are more likely to jump ship, or at least, threaten to reduce the 10% commission. I haven't used Substack's cre
