I thought JSX was just a cosmetic overlay to regular JavaScript functions. I'm not a react expert but I'm pretty sure `return <div>whatever</div>` just returns an object with a property of div and value of whateve

Are you saying that sites that don't provide a positive experience across screen sizes shouldn't worry? Because browsers aren't supposed to do anything besides present information?

Disagree. I use HN on mobile for it's speed, not readability. Would love it if HN had a least one media query to allow for better readability on mobile.

Hey thanks for the reply. I don't work on mobile apps at all, so I really wasn't aware. It's definitely interesting to see your point of view,

I've heard that android's XML layout is terrible (from an android developer) and that iOS auto layout is borderline magic (from an iOS developer). Personally, I don't find css to be that bad at all, but I work in it at least

A human framed lawful meaning is not the same as a morally correct meaning. What your essentially saying is that if we want to end corruption then we need to partake in corruption ourselves (bribe a politician for change). This doesn't

Above I mentioned io.js, an up-to-date fork of node. I think either are a great option.

I'm surprised to see so many leaning towards PHP. Personally I think it would be easier to use an embedded database such as leveldb, and build everything out with browserify, npm, and io.js. This way you can build your application as

This is awesome for me. Few reasons: 1. I don't own Apple products, so I don't have Airdrop. I'm not against Apple or anything, I just prefer using Linux. However, I do think it's quite awesome that this removes the

I'm just going to address your three points with my personal opinions. 1. From a convenience perspective, it is easier for me to manage payments from my phone. That's less space being used in my pocket, and less physical operatio

This is just one answer. You know how Wikipedia is always asking for donations (and rightfully so)? Part of those donations go to paying server cost. Well, this cuts the server cost by decentralizing their content.

What stands out more? The comments, or the names of those who comment? Experiment, write this css into your dev tools: body * { color: #000 !important; }

This reads like the "you might not need jquery" of browserify. Sure, you could concat all your files using unix commands and stuff, but does it solve all the problems that browserify solves?
