Not entirely related to your question on audio aliasing, but many moons ago I was an EE on a team using electro-optics to design a much better Analog-to Digital converter than you could buy commercially. The signals we sampled were in hund

I've never taken Lyft or Uber, but are the drivers required to go where their GPS tells them? Or do they just not know the route? Being used to traditional taxis myself, I find the need for these full-time drivers to be so dependent o

It's not just _the_ journal for bioscience but pretty much all the hard sciences. Back when I was doing my doctoral in physics (I've left academia since), Nature was the top dog of journals; getting even one Nature publication mea

Did you start in London and move to SV? Where was your London office located that you felt had a good support network?

Agree 100%, and also the Silicon <Tag> theme is getting tired. At least here in London they're now calling the Old Street tech hub 'Tech City' instead of 'Silicon Roundabout'.

How is that different from email? Are your back&fortu tweets with the author public or private? (I'm not on twitter, if that helps frame my question).

Space probe NEAR-Shoemaker landed on asteroid Eros in 2001! What is amazing about this landing is that the probe had no landing gear, no shock absorbers, and was not designed in any way to land. NASA engineers tuned the orbit carefully and

Are there any skills you have, degrees you've completed,or knowledge you possess that you wouldn't also consider a party trick?

Wow, you're really calling a course of study that usually takes 3-4 years to complete a "party trick" because it's replaceable by technology? By that reasoning, isn't any job any of us have on this forum also replac

Mapkin is doing this actually. They let users crowd-source their own directions, along with much better turn-by-turn descriptions too. Eg, "turn sharp right just after the firehouse, go past the field and make a left just before the ba
