I'm confused; aren't "Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Lua, and Javascript" examples of "memory-safe interpreted and bytecode languages"?

No, that's stronger than I'd say and I suspect than you think? For example, I think almost anyone would say the nutritional value of 100 calories of whole wheat flour is greater than 100 calories of enriched white flour, is great

That is from the USDA, which in addition to not being a 3-letter agency wasn't involved in any of the pandemic response you were unhappy with.

If there was a 10% increase in one area and an 80% decrease in two others I would still be okay saying half as much. And then there is some wiggle room in how you weight the categories. (But that's not what's going on here)

I worked at Google from 2012 to 2022 and this didn't match my experience, for what it's worth. There were some people who coasted, but it was not common. There were a lot of people who got much less done than you might expect

Right, which is not something Apple "needed" to do because they didn't allow competition in the iOS phone manufacturing business.

That's pretty extreme: I don't think random bloggers that host comment sections need to be laying out terms of service. Instead, they can handle things as they come up, and the community is small enough, and stakes are low enough,
