I can easily see "car parks" just like national parks where people can drive in a range of conditions for the fun of it. That said, I can't see a US society where this is "the only option" for many decades.

While I don't remember how difficult it got, I know I loved Typing of the Dead. Orbs the old "House of the Dead" game, but users a keyboard instead of a light gun! Of course, good luck finding a legit copy...

I was actually thinking deflection. Assuming they're going to bring it near Earth anyway, why not, say, slowly circle the ISS? Sure, it wouldn't do MUCH good... But it's the biggest space squeegee we're going to have access to for the near

Crazy question for hobbyists probably not otherwise suitable for Hacker News: Could a large body like an asteroid be used to clean up space junk? Or would that just be way too risky?

It could, but you also have to consider the cost of getting these materials back to Earth. No article has mentioned the details of that. I don't know if Planetary Resources has disclosed that. And then there's extracting the material. Yes,

FYI, your Google Voice calls are using your minutes and won't continue if you stop your plan. (Unless you're using some kind of work around.) Maybe I misread... Just thought you should know. Good luck with the job hunt! I'm in the exact sam

The concern is that, say, a musician is in the process of making a new song. Google sees this, and releases the song shortly before the artist releases it themselves, and for free! Now what is the artist to do? The likelihood? Small. But if

Because the Support page is outdated? (Maps Labs is now a shortcut on the bottom left of the page.) I just reported the problem via the short survey linked on the page. Let's see how long it takes to fix it...

I hate contextual timestamps. Just give me the data. 2011.04.20.23.16 And cut that down as possible (changeable with a toggle). In conversions, chop off the year and date, save instances where the conversion spans days.

I have an Android phone (Droid X, old I know,) and I love it. But what's odd to me is when hardware companies fork and go without Google, they say "no-but", rather than "yes-and". "Does it have all the stock Android features?" It's often: "

Is it dumb of me to ask "so why isn't NASA working on terraforming bodies yet?" It seems inevitable, and like we may as well start spitballing now. Send a few rooms that attach to the surface and dig in, practice in there remotely.
