For what it's worth, we had an awesome 24/7 account manager with PayPal back when we were 100% bootstrapped. I think it's more about volume than Silicon Valley connections.

In the past couple of years, the only times I can think of that developers have made vanity purchases, the average would have been affected by a few pennies at most. Calling that fraud feels incorrect.

We've been using Stripe Checkout at Humble Bundle for quite a while and it has been awesome. It is really easy to set up and once a customer has used it, it's incredibly easy to checkout in the future. Every couple weeks I hear

Sending to 1,000,000 subscribers costs $55,000+ per year on MailChimp and other premium services. A cheaper option with the same deliverability would be extremely attractive to anyone who doesn't like setting their money on fire!
