"From what I’m hearing this isn’t a short term surge issue, either." I'd love to see/hear who the author heard this from, when and where.

The USRP II is ~$1400, plus a PC, plus the antenna/mast I would think no more than 5k? A link to the USRP site: http://www.ettus.com/

On the bright side, isn't it trivial and relatively cheap to make a radio detector of GPS and other such radio transmissions? Or even a signal jammer? Like what the spies use to sweep a room for listening devices? Let's just assume you're

What is the point of that? I'm not into the whole social network thing but isn't the point of Diaspora to be able to control your own "private" information? If you post to Facebook from Diaspora wouldn't you be giving up the only real reaso

You would need to unplug it or switch it off for a year to save as much energy as it takes to have one-and-a-half baths. Maybe something is lost in translation but what on earth are they comparing? The energy cost to heat

I think it would make things a bit easier. You won't be greasing landings but familiarity with controls and instruments would be a plus. One of the things I remember when first starting was the sheer amount of "stuff" going on in a plane th

We run every single e-mail we get through Flowtown so we know a bit about who’s coming in through the open door. For some reason, and I'm not 100% sure why, this makes me do a 180. I understand it's a beta and closed and the information i

Art Of Deception was a fun read (along with Intrusion). I found it not to be a guide per se (although it may be billed that way) but the stories are inspiring and really get you into the mindset.

I think you're close but I'll agree with David. A marathon is not something that many people will just go do. Training for a marathon may be the better route? These are often shorter runs (<10miles) during the week and 1 long run (<
