I switched from from ripgrep to ugrep and never looked back. It's just as fast, but also comes with fuzzy matching (which is super useful), a TUI (useful for code reviews), and can also search in PDFs, archives, etc. The optional Goo

Not even memory safe. It has many "unsafe" and "transmut", and this is without the bazillion external dependencies it also depends on.

I have more hope in Ladybird than Servo, TBH. Considering how young it is, Ladybird is already very impressive. Even just to take screenshots, Servo's renderer is very basic, slow and buggy.

Maybe this is actually what started that proposal, but it sounds very useful to efficiently implement @Frame when using Zig to create WebAssembly modules.

There's also Flowgger: https://github.com/awslabs/flowgger Heavily used by OVH to process terabytes of log data per day. Likely used by AWS as well now.

The few projects I wrote using async Rust eventually became unmaintainable. And when things go wrong, stack traces involving Futures are impossible to understand. This is where Go really shines. Goroutines may not be "right" or &q

There's nothing really standard, every environment will have its own APIs. WASI is not going to run in a web browser without additional modules. If system calls are not required, code can be compiled to `wasm32-freestanding`. That work

When targeting Emscripten, why not use a regular web engine like V8? Wazero and Wasmer have some support for the Emscripten API, but it's unlikely to be as mature as the real thing backed by Javascript.

Not just clang, it's LLVM. Current builds of Zig also already include LLVM 17, so you can use zig cc as a remplacement for clang 17.

Not just for microcontrollers. If performance is not a priority, but you need something small, simple, and easy to embed, libhydrogen can come in handy. I actually use it more than libsodium.

Joke apart, yes. ChatGPT can sometimes be more useful than rustc error messages. However, the code you need it to explain have to be small and self-contained. When it's part of an actual project, preparing a proper prompt requires a bi

On the other hand, goroutines makes it very easy to write concurrent code. And the built-in checker for race conditions works well. Async Rust, OTOH, can quickly become a horrible spaghetti mess that's virtually impossible to debug, an
