The people who are saying AI will replace everyone are people who don't actively deploy code anymore. People like CEOs and VPs. People who are actively deploying code are well aware of the limitations of AI. A good prompt with some cu

I think it was more about the US insisting the rules get followed no matter what. Sort of like how astronauts today going to ISS have to fill out international travel forms, even when they leave from the USA.

The BBB used to work so well because most people thought they were a government agency. The thought a complaint to the BBB came with actual penalties. Now a lot more people know that they are basically just the first version of Yelp.

I don't know about where you live, but by far the lowest latency option for me is symmetric gigabit. And my options jump from 200/20 to 1000/1000, and 200/20 was for sure not enough for everyone to stream and video chat

I'm not dehumanizing economists, I'm dehumanizing the particular theory I was replying to, which is "let the market do its thing". Which is a very rational and uncaring way to look at things. And I'm aware I didn&#

That's the economists answer, but not the human answer. In the case of an emergency, especially one involving the sudden loss of housing in one area, economics doesn't cover the answer. If we simply "let the market do it&#x

Allowing those who are willing to pay any price to do so while still serving the community by not price gouging everyone, especially those who are price sensitive but are still desperate.

This happens to any platform using algorithmic pricing. Any time there is an unexpected event that either constrains supply or increases demand (or both), the algos go haywire. Then the the platform has to put in checks to prevent it from

Interesting. Are you actually using that functionality? Seems like something you’d just build for your users to keep your own complexity low. Well if you change your mind let me know, we’re happy to help!

Check out DBOS. There are a bunch of sample apps here: https://github.com/dbos-inc/dbos-demo-apps/tree/main/python DBOS is an open source library that doesn’t require an external server.

Of course not for life, but generally to avoid ethics issues the government requires you to be out for at least a year or two before engaging in business with the government.

Not really. It would be obvious to anyone who's ever seen a government contract that they were excluded for ethics reasons.

It is certainly a handout to rich people, but it does serve a purpose. If you have a choice to invest in a startup vs a more stable investment, the $10M (or now $15M) in tax free gains is a strong incentive to choose the startup investment
