What are y'all using for entitlements? Do you use your feature flag system? A different saas like Stigg? Or a separate internal system? I was just coming to hn this morning because I wrote about using FF for entitlements: https:/

Just kicked off a project to explore open-sourcing what we've built (VC funded). I'm considering a different tack which I think may be interesting. We have a lot of client libraries, already open sourced. Then we have the hosted A

I really appreciate when a product thinks about this use case. It's real annoying to have your data get all messed up in whatever app you're in because you're showing it off to other people. Your user is doing the best thing

Thank you for this. We just had a customer suffering trying to get Python logs into GCP. We provide dynamic logging at Prefab, but that wasn't the issue at all. Turns out that logs need to conform to some very opinionated formatting fo

Feature flag SDK normally have background workers, but that's not available with a Netlify function that is running as a Lambda. I implemented FeatureFlags in Netlify in two different ways and compared. For most applications I think ac

mmm, that makes some sense. Aligning the value chain better has got to happen. I like your insight that maybe that's just impossible if the seller has an LLM to train. Related: https://twitter.com/far33d/status

I wish i could be more bullish on GPTstore and what you've got here. It's hard for me to foresee these not getting rolled up into the "one all-knowing interface". Unless a GPT brings data that's truly unobtainable e

The real thing is the switching costs. Sure we start with openAI. But at some hackathon in 9 months somebody will try mistral and if that saves real money and still works it feels like any easy swap.

We had a dynamic configuration system for much of our configuration, but it didn't play well with environment variables. And environment variables are a must, because that's the easiest way to get terraform created config (via a c

Oh yeah, I’m totally sold on that. GKE autopilot was about as 1 button as I could get. It’s just the next step that feels like there is a missing tool. But i don’t need something complex. I’m happy kubectl apply. I just don’t want to manage

Env vars are usually better than the alternatives, but orgs often move beyond them and build their own configuration systems. Why? One big one is that the way environment variables work fundamentally encourages a small number of variables,

I've been thinking about this a bunch. It's weird that we our apps are typesafe in lots of ways and then just hope that some magic string config & env vars are available, and there isn't even a comprehensive list of what
