You'll be pleased to find that Nautilus in 10.10 has a split pane view. Just hit View > Extra Pane (or F3). :-)

If you're upgrading a server, just run "do-release-upgrade -m server".

The correct way to upgrade Ubuntu from the command line is "do-release-upgrade" (which includes extra upgrading smarts that apt alone does not).

Note: That was the announcement of the shift from Gecko to WebKit, not the launch of Epiphany itself (which was years earlier).

A few thoughts from a former GNOME release manager... FLOSS developers, particularly those writing code in their spare time, hack on whatever they feel like. Usually because they find it fun. This is why we have jokes about the number of

Practically every Linux distro uses DejaVu Sans (previously Bitstream Vera Sans), which is not Helvetica-like. Windows and OS X don't use Helvetica-like fonts either. I think you might be smoking an Arial hash pipe... because Helvetica is c

I wouldn't be terribly surprised, based on the timeline of exploits I've seen, if the wider abuse of this is due to the incredibly stupid exploit demonstration at the launch of @RainbowTwtr. My related tweets from earlier tonight... ah, a

If you want to keep track of hot, fresh node-y goodness independently of the Ubuntu release cycle (as I do), then please enjoy my nodejs PPA builds. They're built for lucid, but run fine on maverick, and like everything else in that PPA, ar
