So the logic goes, consider x^x^x^...=2. We have an infinite tower of x's. Now, suppose we group all but the first x as so: x^(x^x^x^..)=2. The number of x's in the parenthesis is still infinite (infinity minus 1 is still infinity

It's certainly not a mathematical function. That being said, to even write 4 = x ^ (x ^ x ^ x ^ ...) is a bit misleading. The function diverges for y not in the range of e^-1 < y < e. I think that's a bit simpler and elegant

This does not work because it does not converge for the number 4. The equation x^x^x^x^...=y is only valid for y in the range e^-1 < y < e, although proving this is a bit complicated. More info on hyperpowers can be found here: ( http

While the idea of YC being involved in politics at all is off-putting, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. This provides YC with valuable publicity and connections. It helps put the tech/entrepreneurship community in

About the single and multiple expression if-statements, I couldn't agree more. Everyone says I'm an idiot always assuming multiple expressions (it is ugly), but in the end it is safer.

Many out-of-college entrepreneurs want that sweet VC money because of the status associated with it, even if it may not be necessary.... Now it is often the case that one should take/want that money, but to think that VC money is what

I find it very likely that when the foundation issued these license plates they knew people would donate to get them in order to avoid some speeding tickets. This probably resulted in a lot more funds raised than if they gave away jackets,

These networks need to be better modularized with respect to security. I'm sure it's expensive, but it has to be cheaper than dealing with big security debacles such as Target's recent one.
