I totally disagree. What this gives students is a choice . > 1) Until now, the majority of University-affiliated MOOCs have been free. This just changed. You can take a free MOOC or a paid one. > 2) I find it immensely frustrating

I say we let the market decide. People like me who much prefer MOOCs to brick-and-mortar universities will gladly stop paying tuition, and people who value traditional universities can support them. Surely, the number of traditional univers

I have had a handful of great discussions with professors, but if I had to choose between that and the awesome discussions I have had on MOOC forums, I would choose the MOOC route any day. Of course, that is simply my personal experience.

Certainly, the world's economy would have collapsed when cars came and the horse and buggy creators lost their jobs, the printing press forced manual copiers out of business, automatic telephone switches made operators lose their job, etc.

So we waste billions of dollars per year to "force terrorists to up their game." My main issue with the TSA, besides the fact they violate my rights, is they are a non-solution to a non-issue. The fact is, TSA screening is a joke, and TSA s

They want a wage of $10.10 per hour? I bet a Costco employee starts around $10.20 per hour.

Quick octal explanation: In an octal system, each digit ranges from 0-7 (each digit in a binary system is either 0 or 1, or each digit in base 10 ranges from 0-9). Therefore, when you get to 8, you can't write 8; you have to use another dig

People shouldn't have to evaluate the risk involved in living anywhere , that is the job of actuators. Their evaluation is presented to consumers through the price system. If the government didn't bail out homeowners who didn't have insura

I reread the article with that in mind, and it makes much more sense, to the point that I am inclined to agree with much of what you said now. I think you should highlight that difference closer to the beginning of the article. That is a ni

I still don't understand how the author jumped from a cute comparison of Fibonacci algorithms to saying programmers shouldn't learn more math. Math isn't just arithmetic and numbers. He acts as if the recursive solution isn't also math. Dev

I don't understand why we keep us in the word "democratize" when it comes to increasing individual freedom with technology. Democracy is the tyranny of the majority; we aren't voting to see who gets to produce or consume what. It's a pet pe
