Indeed. I don't know about today, but back in 2006 MSN was as popular as AIM and Yahoo! worldwide and particularly strong in certain areas -- there are some countries where it was even a verb ("I'll MSN you"). But then MS changed the name

I would potentially go for something like this, assuming I could then use the code as a basis for ongoing tweaking. $1000 seems reasonable, maybe higher, depending on how much is getting prototyped.

I don't think "no mind" is a trivial solution by any means; and Vajrayana Buddhism (as well as some other branches) do allow for desire. Agreed that there can be other solutions as well. However I do think Buddhism has some very valid crit

I wonder how AOL feels about the acquisition these days? I've talked with a lot of people recently who feel that the "tech blogging" space is ripe for disruption ...

Congrats to Sam and Nick. Sound exciting! This has to be a bit disappointing from Facebook's perspective. When they bought Divvyshot it was described as a talent acquisition ... turns out that at least for Sam, it was just a short-term ta

No I'm not involved with it ... agreed, it still needs some work; it's still an interesting direction to go. Aza Raskin's privacy icons look great but similarly I'm not sure how easy they are for end users to understand. It's a bit of a c

Agreed, there's huge potential upside if it all goes well. PayPal was acquired for $1.5B. A $2B for Square (at its very early stage, with a part-time CEO) seems pretty bubblicious to me.

Isn't this the kind of argument that Paul Graham charcterizes as "ad hominem" and usually gets voted down on Hacker News? Don't get me wrong, personally I think it's very valid to bring up and important to keep in mind while reading their a
