Possibly, I think the anti-vaxxer movement has more to do with a distrust of authority, particularly scientific authority, than it has to do with an actual fear of autism. If / when a measles outbreak happens there's still a quest

I can understand the anger, it's quite horrifying that diseases we thought were eradicated are making a comeback. On the other hand I'm also horrified by the idea of shipping people off to Alaska for refusing to submit to a medica

OP isn't quite asking that imo. If you want to add enough value to justify that salary there's an obvious answer: get better at your job. I.e. don't be in the top 25% of programmers, be in the top 1% or .1%. If OP was asking

Brimming with arrogance and a complete lack of self awareness. There are a lot of programmers in the top 25% that are willing to work for a lot less than 1 million a year. Why would anyone hire this guy who has no social skills, is arrogant

This is the unfortunate reality that no one wants to face. Trump ran on an anti-immigration platform and won. Contrary to what Sam says I don't think that most people voted for Trump for different reasons. Some did, but for many the an

It seems remarkable that time crystals were theorized in 2012 and confirmed in 2017. It took several decades for experimental methods to catch up to the Higgs Boson for example.

A number of notable opensource projects in the big data space were started at LinkedIn. Kafka is probably the most prominent example but there are others too. So I'd say they're fairly known for their engineering. You definitely d

Agreed, this is a fantastic description of one of the true legends of CS. I had the great fortune of having Laci as my algorithms professor. Many great researchers are lousy lecturers, Laci is anything but. He's a captivating lecturer.

Judging from the article it might be pretty expensive, one of the things they talked about was the space requirements which makes sense, cheetahs need to run. I think that's part of why this is such a tricky problem to solve.
