Any tool that's worth your money will have competitors. Sooner or later. A vacuum of users who suddenly need a new service to shovel their money at will be quickly filled by the market.

I have no interest in Evernote, but those instructions are hardly daunting. They could be reduced to two steps. 1. Export your delicious data. 2. Drag the file onto Evernote. What if I don't want to give you my username and password for a s

Choose services that clearly and easily allow you to export all of your data whenever you want. delicious makes export trivial, so there's not much lock-in. Look at how many competitors already support importing delicious files.

Why are people replying to me as if I ever said that Chaos Monkey was a bad idea? I was responding to a question about how to unit test remote system failures. Obviously that's not the only testing you're going to do.

It's currently rare, but Netflix does offer some shows prior to DVD release. For example, Party Down Season 2 episodes were available on Netflix the same week that they were originally broadcast. They've since been removed, and I assume wil

If we're measuring this by function:cost then this is easy. I bought a Sony ICF S10MK2 radio last spring for $10. It's used two sets of batteries so far, so make that $15. It's a great example of 1950's technology still being relevant today
