xpenology lets you run synology on commodity hardware - I have a 212j, and run xpenology on an old Optiplex I had lying around for Plex with Transcoding. pretty neat

Sure, why not? You can still write good applications using PHP. It not just for legacy servers and pre-installed applications (wordpress/drupal). You don't even have to use [framework of the month]. Its just a tool. Good architect

I pay $70 for AT&T's UVerse GigaPower fiber (300/300 right now) in Austin. The only reason we have that option though is due to Google Fiber making everyone up their game. Even Time Warner offers reasonably priced 300/20

In theory - although its just conjecture. There are so spec's out there on the Jacket Weight or its windbreaking properties. If its as heavy as Canvas, then its just novel.

They're highly reliable and rarely wear out - no cables, no pads, and as you mentioned, no issues with water/mud which is a real concern in the NL. The only thing you're sacrificing is stopping power - but it fits the riding

I know there is a very good reason for this, but it seems like we're sending a lot of satellites to these moons and planets to perform VERY similar missions. Orbit around, take photos and readings. Why are we creating a new spacecraft

Valid point, but generally speaking, I was looking for someone who was a bit more mature than straight out of Highschool - and college gave me some concept that they'd achieved that. Hiring right out of HS would have been a higher risk
