The motions of the sun and seasons (my personal experience) are much easier explained by the "round" model :) The truth from ground level is more like "I can't actually know if it's round or not, because the scale i

I work like this every day in my game that I am building. I’m almost the only one using the engine, and 90% of my work is in lua. I use the source code and the lua 5.1 reference for everything. I hardly google something in a week of work, s

Well, our values and norms say that being an employee, that some 40 of our hours per week are owned by another person, is good and normal. Freedom has very little value it seems. I'm like you and I just love to be free. I do whatever I

For complex GIS stuff in OpenLayers, you can do stuff like connect to a GeoServer instance and edit features with a ready made protocol like WFS-T. I have been involved in making these kind of tools for enterprises, like editing address poi

Reading the comments its obvious that this hits a nerve with many people, exactly as the essay argues :) Our conceptual world is just that, conceptual, and is open to interpretation and change, and is fundamentally open ended. And at our cu

I guess the thing that puzzles me is that if they are run threaded (concurrently) they seem just as hard to reason about as threaded IO to me. And that would leave the motivation to be performance gains by being able to reduce the amount of

I have never used async/await and cant really understand it. Is it like coroutines in lua? It seems very similar. But I guess its not limited to one thread like lua? Whats makes it better then threaded IO? Losing the overhead of thread

I would guess whatever you do on top of typescript, its still a superset of javascript, which will always have holes in it. Its that 100% guarantee that the author is looking for, and that Elm provides. The difference between 99% and 100% i
