Your free time should be the time when you do things unrelated to your professional work. A healthy advise I got from Usenet a long time ago is that one should have a hobby unrelated to computers. That advise was given when there where no e

I'm currently reading "The White Plague" (1982) by Frank Herbert, which seems somehow appropriate given the current pandemic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Plague (contains spoilers)

Cool concept. But "curl | less" will display those null chars, so I'd use many shell comment lines instead to fill tcp buffers. Which again will fill the reader's page and make the pager stop for me to read, which might

You can install Termux on Android devices and use Emacs there. I use it on more or less read only on the smartphone and actively on a tablet. Both rsync with my desktop from inside Termux. And Orgzly has already been mentioned.

Mazda uses the ABS data instead. Which I prefer, because otherwise you'll need eight sensors already, if you switch between summer and winter tires.

I've been comparing other hashes to MD5 during the last few months to compare and identify large photos and movie files. My experience is that xxhash is much faster than good old MD5. You can find some numbers at it's site here:

First, as someone already mentioned, you might need more sleep. What's your sleep duration if you sleep until you wake up by yourself? I'd test that on a quiet long weekend, not during a busy day. Second, while I now use a lamp wh

You might want to try https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privoxy , a "privacy enhancing proxy" which works by reducing the stuff a browser sends before passing it on. Edit: removed typo.

Great story, yes. But there's no such thing as a "halzenfugel" in German as far as I can tell as a native speaker. Even www.duden.de, the official German dictionary, doesn't know that word ;-0
