I miss Bloglines, honestly. I switched to greader after bloglines started having DB problems several years ago, but never really liked the UI - seemed too bloated and slow. I switched to using Reeder as a frontend, but in an effort to switc

I think a better way of saying it is that distribution is a commodity. It is easy and painless to distribute newspaper-style information these days compared to 100 years ago. Not to say there aren't ways to make money - look at Newsstand

Indeed, in my completely anecdotal experience, the Sony products (PS3, PSP, Vita) seem far more popular overseas (especially in Japan) than the 360. Microsoft has had a hard time getting the 360 going in Japan.

I don't know about T-Mobile, but I think AT&T and Verizon both require smartphones to have a data plan, and they can detect if you have a smartphone and force you to have a data plan because of that.

There are fan made patches (nyerguds) for C&C95 and RA that help with this, as well as a DirectDraw driver for graphics and CnCNet for multiplayer. (Would provide links but can't at the moment. Google should find them easily)

I assume you mean "Programming Perl", aka the Camel book. (has a camel on the cover) In my experience the Camel book is better as a reference and you should use "Learning Perl" to actually learn the language. It's structured better for th

You might check out the book "Seven Languages in Seven Weeks" which has a chapter on Clojure (and Scala, Ruby, Io, Prolog, Erlang and Haskell too). I took a class that used it and I thought the format was quite good.

In his defense, I don't think Marco just connected the dots, he's been talking about this since Twitter first put out their updated developer guidelines.

In the US, the power to manage elections is still very much held at the state level. There have been federal inroads (Voting Rights Act) but historically the states have held full control over voting procedures. Most positions being voted

I just finished a class in my CS graduate program where we used this book for part of the class. It was very interesting and has widened my perspective on languages quite a bit (including giving me a bit of a functional language interest).

Really depends on your school. I went to a little podunk college (graduated in '02) with a tiny CS department and we did not do anything nearly this complex. You went to a top 10 CS school and did stuff like this. I don't have any real d

Came here to post this, except I was going to suggest it be built into HN itself and be in a section at the top of the comment page, perhaps between the link and the comment box. A way to suggest/add the links to the box would be good too
