For that scenario PouchDB would run in the browser and connect to Sync Gateway using CORS. Of course you'd still have to install Sync Gateway somewhere first, which is more work than outsourcing to a provider like Dropbox, but also mor

Works great with Apache CouchDB, PouchDB, Cloudant, etc. The mobile libraries and Sync Gateway all use the CouchDB sync protocol. We built Sync Gateway because the Apache CouchDB access control model wasn't fine grained enough for most

I'm a NoSQL developer and I've been watching protocols like WebRTC and CoAP mature over the years. It's fun for me to see someone shine a spotlight on the area, even if it isn't exactly new. UDP can do things TCP can

Our XDCR doesn't have quite the power of our mobile sync conflict management, but I'd wager to say what we do for mobile is unbeatable as far as delivering unsurprising behavior for offline / p2p applications.

Good to see a complaint about NoSQL that is at least targeted in a reasonable direction. Personally I see a lot of success coming from flexible document schemas but obviously it's not perfect for every app. What did you think about Dom
