One of the issues I've seen with entr, fswatch, etc is they don't respond to ATTR changes (e.g. via touch). When developing on VM, sometimes you have to "forward" filesystem events to the guest. Usually that happens via

Yes I mostly agree. Also I suspect a lot of the Go executable size comes from "initial" runtime overhead that does not scale linearly with the project size. Rapid scaling in a "Superbowl ad" or similar situation is affec

AFAIK, if you deploy an app to an AWS auto-scaling group, then bundle size can very much impact your cold boot times, and therefore scaling agility.

Curious, how do you do fingerprinting without JS? User agent, header order, etc? How well does it work?

JavaScript poses a large security and privacy risk. Think browser fingerprinting, XSS, JS-based analytics, poor or missing CSP + hijacked npm modules, etc. I generally keep JS disabled as much as possible.

The advice "there is no such thing as universal advice" is, by its own rule, not universal advice, and therefore serves as its own counter-example.

This seems pretty critical. I imagine the concept of annotations would benefit from "communities" of annotators who have a common interest. Otherwise popular pages may get annotation overload and have a poor news-to-noise ratio.

tl;dr: use TypeScript, but don't worry so much about hooks. --- I recently switched my JS + PureComponent mobile app to TypeScript and FC Hooks. I felt motivated to do so because: - You cannot use hooks in PureComponent render(). The t

It’s certainly not O(1). However I think the intuition and excitement exists around the ideal bundler and I think this project provides hard evidence that we can strive for such things with incremental success.

If you "override" a command in your PATH with an alias, you can access the original command with a leading backslash. For example, I use: ``` alias open=xdg-open ``` To call the real open command, I can use \open.
