> Yes, spinning up machines on GCP is incredibly fast and has always been. AWS is decent. FWIW this article is saying the opposite--it's AWS that beats GCP in startup speed.

I haven't done much playing around with Svelte so don't have any business injecting myself into this subthread, but your explanation piqued my curiosity. https://github.com/sveltejs/svelte/issues/673

50% of SP is not OK, but 80% is OK? Honest question. I can think of principled arguments for equal pay and for fully COL-adjusted pay, but I can't think of any for equal-ish pay.

I've never heard that "gender" is a grammatical term only, it got me interested enough to search up the word in some older dictionaries. Webster's 1828: https://webstersdictionary1828.com/Dictionary/

GDPR fines are structured to make it extremely risky/expensive to take the “ask for forgiveness not permission” approach you’re suggesting. I think for this reason, the fine is designed to scale with the size of the offending company’s

That doesn’t appear to be true; on Tesla’s site, the delivery estimate doesn’t change if you add the FSD option. Unless you’re saying it’s an undocumented policy?

I’m with you on minimal, 100% anonymous, and aggregated, but why does the data need to be open to the public to not be spying? Genuinely curious, you’ve clearly thought about this a lot.

It's just as bad on desktop. I found it hugely helpful to tweak <h2> with margin-left: -4rem, and <h3> with margin-left: -2rem (using the Developer Tools that the author works/worked on?). Worth the effort, great advic

My logic was similar, in R: library(dplyr) combos <- expand.grid(x = 1:99, y = 1:99) |> filter(x <= y) |> # Remove dupes mutate(sum = x + y, prod = x * y) find_singletons <- function(col = c("sum&qu

Would taxing the loan reset the cost basis, then? Or are you suggesting taxing the same gains twice (or more than twice if someone repeatedly takes out and pays back a loan against the same assets)? I agree buy, borrow, die is a problem but

Good catch. It's because the initial value for year is: var year = new Date().getFullYear(); and 2022 is outside of the range of the slider. If you tweak the HTML to change the slider's max value to 2022, then it works pr
