When I used to be an "IT guy", everything had to be in Excel. I begged to switch to Access. Hell, I even built a few prototypes in Access in my free time to demonstrate how much better it would be (I was still a student). My point: Over t

The underlying issue is that broadcasters are creating an artificial scarcity to drive demand. I find that to be more unethical than exploiting a loophole.

This doesn't amaze me at all. Once I read an email, if I don't respond immediately, there's a good chance I'll forget and never respond at all.

Off topic, but the Reddit post about Neox Screen using the ShareX source code and asking for donations is quite disheartening. Not that anything illegal occurred, just the level of deceitfulness. http://www.reddit.com/r/opensource/comments

You will always have bad people. The more people that exploit the system, the faster the system will change to be more 'fair', otherwise you're just handicapping yourself. Look at all the patent lawsuits. As they said in my business ethi

I can say from experience that a blank website is very effective in getting a stubborn client to pay. Defacing them is probably taking it too far though, and I don't see how it could be more effective.

I've built a few prototype multiplayer games that use web sockets (Socket.io actually) and the performance has been encouraging. One game I posted on HN had over 30 concurrent users without noticeable lag. It was also terribly inefficient
