I honestly don’t think we need a government solution to this issue. Consumers who want this security can buy from manufacturers with a reputation at stake such as Amazon or Apple. I don’t want your “help”. Let the market sort it out.

Many places allow for dual meters: one water meter that is used for irrigation and another for water that ultimately goes for waste treatment. In places with abundant water, e.g. places where this drilling technique would work, the water i

Dodgy in what way? This kind of thing is where none would do creative accounting. Accountants just propose a plan and get the auditor to sign off on it, or suggest modifications. In the auto business, if the CFO wants to hit a number for

That isn’t the issue. The problem is an ice shell initially forms, then the water inside the shell needs to expand as it freezes but it has no where to expand. This creates internal stress and micro fractures and the resulting ice crackle

Solar + battery doesn’t bother anyone. Wind turbines have mild resistance from people who think they are an eyesore or people worried about migratory birds.

When did HackerNews get so hysterical. The evidence for talc causing ovarian cancer is extremely weak, maybe 5 additional cases per 100,000 women at worst. It makes no damn sense as a cervix only allows anything to head inside about 1 day

We dedicate 39 million acres to corn ethanol so our gas is 10% ethanol. 15 million acres of panels would supply all of the US energy needs including all current petroleum energy. 1 acre of corn produces 11 million kcal. 1 acre of solar pa

It is a seasonal thing to take vacationers fishing. Charge $1000 a trip, maybe fish 80 days a year accounting for weather. After expenses there isn’t much left over. It is a labor of love. How much do you think people who guide people o

PFAS is a huge family of long lasting fluorinated chemicals. The ones that are bio-absorbed typically are liquid at normal temperatures. Gasoline and plastic are both hydrocarbons, but gasoline is toxic and long chain polyethylene is not.
