At my last job we were doing ML with full motion video. Our data scientists kept looking at synthetic data (being able to use it would have solved a lot of practical problems for us) and rejecting it :)

I'm still of the opinion that the transporter works by murdering the user at the source and creating a copy at the destination. You would never get me to use one of those things :)

I think the JVM route is smart for bootstrapping a new language since it gives you an existing ecosystem to leverage. However, at this point, I'd love to see a native Clojure.

Truth Social appears to be stillborn mostly due to technical incompetence. Otherwise, it might have been at least somewhat successful in crowding out the gabs, gettrs, etc. I believe Musk would hire the proper talent and wouldn't scre

Good points. I just wonder why Amazon wouldn't raise the base rate they charge sellers rather than tacking on a "surcharge." It's not as if inflation is transitory :D

My file server is running FreeBSD. The biggest sticking point for using it on my dev machine is lack of docker support on BSD. These days, my dev box is running Arch.

I seem to be stuck. Even companies that at first seem amenable to giving me a significant increase always try to talk me down later in the hiring process. Dropped out of a few because of that.

I went through a google interview process 10 years ago - only made it a couple rounds in and it did not go well. Started getting recruiter emails from them again recently; either they forgot that I suck, or they're getting desperate.
