While I absolutely loved this video, I absolutely despised the former Facebook employee's long winded question that wasn't relevant to anything Elon Musk could've talked about but was instead an advertisement.

Ahh, makes so much more sense. I've gotten too used to the realm of hackers on here to have even considered someone not building an app like that for themselves.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the specifics, but how did he invest $7,000 to build a timer app? Is that just the development time x his old job's hourly rate? Is that including marketing? I can't fathom how an indie dev could spend almost

Used it for less than 3 minutes, got more than 10 "Share with your friends!" pop-ups that if you hit "no" on forgets the action you were trying to perform before it showed the pop-up. Very annoying.

Were you in us-east-1? That sounds amazingly lucky. If only Amazon would tell us how many AZs actually went down...

Our entire team was making sure we'd give immediate response to any user who asked what was going on while we didn't have the down page up, so most people were pretty happy: http://i.imgur.com/hCP44.png

Interesting back-and-forth, but seeing sites like this really makes me appreciate having Readability one button away. The combination of the huge banner and the facepile on the bottom of the screen make it very distracting to read.
