We use nginx 0.7.x as a load balancer and have no complaints. A pair balance 25M+ requests a day. It's certainly not a full-featured load balancer -- nothing like the visibility and control you get with haproxy or similar -- but for us it'

We do this to the tune of a million events a day (not pageviews, actual UI interactions) and it works well, especially given the $0 price tag. What's lacking is event correlation of the kind that KissMetrics and others support: how many us

I looked at about 10 of these that I hadn't seen before, and they're all either google-foo projects or their developers have @google.com email addresses.

Dupe of http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1000404 URLs didn't match because of Google Analytics tracking cruft. Curious to know how bad the dupe-URL problem is on HN.

It's too bad they didn't cover SoftLayer's deal with Internap. Not quite in Akamai's league, especially outside of the US and Western Europe, but far better than some of the smaller CDN upstarts. Pay-as-you-go pricing, large network, and

The maximum expires header you can set with Rackspace's Limelight offering is 3 days. Fine for software delivery, one-off large images and files, etc., but not suitable for static object delivery. If I were a cynical man, I'd say this eit
