Apple is charging developers money to avoid a problem imposed by Apple themselves. To be fair, the developer subscription includes tools and documentation for Mac/iOS specific development that a price tag is fair for. But for the use c

Same problem, it’s a shame because it looks like a good article, but too distracting with the layout jumping around. Not sure of a way to take a screen recording on an iPad though.

Yeah, when's the last time a bank, or indeed any other credible financial institution, did this? Does not inspire confidence at all.

As an Easter egg in a program I once wrote I added a ‘silly menu’ that programmatically took a string of words, split by space, and generated an array of menu items each parented to the previous word’s. Then in the program code I had it gen

The location is the end of some tidal flow lanes rejoining the main freeway lanes with an unusual configuration of lane markings and barriers. I drive past the spot all the time and can totally see a computer messing up here.

I think it is only intended to work with Apple’s partner carriers. I wanted to add my iPad to my AT&T data service and I could not use the built in SIM. Instead AT&T sent one for free. The iPad has a separate SIM slot and I imagine

If I remember correctly it was called DoubleSpace in Windows 3.1/DOS 6.2 and then due to some patent or licencing issue was renamed (and the compression algorithm modified) to DriveSpace in Windows for Workgroups 3.11/DOS 6.22.

Not necessarily; working after the 8th hour in a day you get 150%, and given a quoted annual “salary” that takes this into account, it means the regular 8 hours’ pay is correspondingly lower.
