I still have 4 of these, even one of their bluetooth ones. They all work, except a 15 year old one whose USB cable got frayed and fell apart. (I bought a USB-C port to see if I could fix it, yet another incomplete project) I agree with op

Chronic absence numbers are misleading. We all know that they are just placeholder stats for other factors and we should focus on those. My 3rd grade daughter was unlucky with various illnesses and missed about 12 days this year (so far).

Dunno how it is in Germany but quite a few of my non white friends wound up in the Canadian Army. I don't know why immigration is brought up in this conversation at all.

Somewhat hilariously, the US adopted the same Wolf Warrior diplomacy. Maybe public diplomacy is simply adjacent to local politics to the US. I still think this will backfire spectacularly over the medium term.

It's not just the EU, you can see these organizations in Canada and in Japan. For example, I watch youtube channels ostensibly created to discuss Japanese Real Estate (I'm thinking about Rakumachi) which suddenly pivot to posting

I don't know. Using Reddit mode like that is often a waste of time for me. The LLM does pokes holes but often it is missing context, playing word games, or making a mountain out of a molehill. In a conversational chatbot setting it i

> 9 MiB I'm glad people still care about stuff like this. It drives me insane that the simplest form-based software that I build and compile ends up being 50-100 MiB; several times video games from the 80s that I grew up with that

Alberta is imposing a charge on EV registrations, and they increased it again this year. At some point I'm hoping courts curtail their attempt at imposing gas cars but given how Canadian courts are hamstrung at obvious human rights is

In this past year I've gotten 2 bills for more than 1500$ for my Tesla Model 3, a car whose trade-in value is between 5 and 9 thousand dollars. When I complained, I was told that the parts are only produced by Tesla and are patented (t

I agree with you. I also need to shout at the clouds on this because the experts who make the argument for time changes drive me crazy. I live in Calgary. At a previous grade school my daughter went to, school started early enough that sh

I previously deployed stuff to Salesforce when I ran a very large Asia-Pacific Salesforce org. The previous way (prior to SFDX which was clearly influenced by Heroku) was terrible. 12 hour long deploys that end when one unit test times out

Underrated comment. Everyone commented on the battery life for my model 3 in winter (which is annoying but not a huge deal). The problems with the bushings, the easily cracked (2500$) roof glass, and the lack of spare parts (not as bad as R
