Why? Google is some outside entity from another country. Do you find it hilarious that I discipline my kids but it would probably result in a physical altercation if someone else whom I didn't place in authority (explicitly or implicitly

I really, really hate this attitude of searching high and low for anything remotely resembling hypocrisy so we can condemn any and all action. It's not only counterproductive but intellectually slothful. It's lazy because the answer is so

So you want little guys who are struggling for market share to risk it all for a fight they may not win in the end (and if they even survive, this losing stance could be held against them)? Companies like Google and FB could shut their ent

People are lazy creatures. If something happens that inconveniences them in some way they will first hate the thing that caused the block (i.e. Facebook itself), but once they see that the initial target won't move they will hate the other

IMO, the problem is that the guaranteed short-term profit strategy (MBA?) has infested Hollywood. These days they will only make a movie that has already done well. That means sequels and remakes. Every time you think your seeing an orig

I don't know about the other two, but the first one is a huge steaming pile of BS. First of all; Apple could have also charged less if they made such a limited device. And second, they do charge about as little for the iPad as they can,

Actually, it's not the US that's blocking you. It's your own country . You see, some company in your country bought the rights to that media and plans to repackage it (maybe dub it) and play it to you with their own commercials. They do

I totally disagree. In fact, I would say the only thing that's saved us thus far is that those in power don't understand technology. If they would have been able to see what the internet was capable of, they would never have allowed it

You have a pretty low opinion of people who've managed to make large sums of money. If they're as stupid as you think, maybe that money would be better utilized by people who aren't?

So what? New ones also spring up and sometimes the new ones are big enough to eat the old ones. From what I can see, the market is in a continuous state of expand->consolidate->repeat.

Good. No one has the right to having employees. If you want employees, you pay what it takes to attract them. Parker is trying to manipulate the market here to get prices down to what he wants to be paying.

It's a self-serving argument. A bigger overall impact is more likely when there are tons and tons of smaller companies out there trying ideas (i.e. the chance of one of them hitting the next big thing). If all these engineers just go work

Thanks for your answers. Does this mean we have to maintain different versions of each app or is it reasonable to say nothing earlier than 4.3 is supported [1]? [1] Full disclosure: I haven't released my first app yet so I'm wondering if I

I'm sorry but this is a horrible argument. Granular security is critical to having a system that can actually be locked down. Which is why SELinux support is built into the kernel now.
