Pageload - Remote - Full time Pageload (pageload.io) is a new service that aims to make websites faster by acting as a transparent proxy between the origin and a CDN. Pageload is based in Sydney, Australia but has a global customer base and

I just want to add another library in here which – at least in my world – is replacing json as the number one configuration and serialisation format. It's called libucl and it's main consumer is probably the new package tool in Fr

I think Antirez said it best: "A darwinian selection will work to make sure we have the best Redis possible." Last time I checked, Charles Darwin didn't take notes about a voting process amongst animals, rather how leaders we

The title is misleading (currently: Io.js is one step closer to ARM). io.js already supports armv{6,7}. You can download these binaries here: https://iojs.org/dist/v1.4.2/ This change introduces preliminary suppor

The fact that opinions like these are still a thing says more about the opinion than his commitment to the node/io/libuv community. edit: obvious commit statistics below/above.

I can vouch for arp networks. I started off using their VPS services (kvm), running both linux and FreeBSD; but now use their dedicated services. Very knowledgable people behind this and a pretty active irc channel on freenode (#arpnetworks

I think this is a case where gentoo can really shine. Although tooling might not be there just yet, the linux meta distribution allows you to build a strict set of dependencies based on what you need and nothing else. There's already b

Square or similar should pick this stuff up. The personality the Little Printer exhibited was a refreshing (and for me, important) distinction. Not saying that they should put it out there 1:1, but there's a lot to learn in how this th

For simpler systems, there's also mdev from busybox and toybox (no 3d engine included). It's usually enough for headless servers or vm's and fits in neatly with making these "micro OSes" even more lightweight.

I think the biggest problem with information from the Sublime office is that it's "just words". My take on this situation is that perceived activity were driven by software updates and presence in the forums. Both stopped a f

To get a more accurate response, I'd list a few use cases here. If you want better control over cache in general (expiration, purge, etc) or have strong gains (use-case specific) of using VCL or ESI its pretty hard to stay clear of usi

I don't see init scripts as an argument for writing journal (no more plaintext logfiles), integrating udev, replacing cron, writing their own login manager or handling power management (among other things). The argument of "do one

To me, this is more a proof of concept implementation in D than a tool I'd consider having part of my workflow. The dependency chain and "exotic" language choice makes just having it available in your ecosystem a higher jump

It's most likely a response to the 60 minutes feature episode on their (the NSA's) actions where they abstained from spying on Americans. If they were, they'd only target non-Americans.
