This is so true. My wife works at the level 1 trauma center here in Seattle and she often has to make the decision to call Airlift. After a couple of crashes a couple of years ago she is much more careful about weighing the risk to the crew

When you look at XBox as a business, it still have quite a long way to go. The amount of money sunk into the business is just astronomical. It may be profitable now on a Q by Q basis, but it will take years to pay the bill and there is no

The number of Googlers moving to Seattle post IPO was very very small. Most growth in our office came from local hiring. I believe the company tried to filter this out. That isn't to say there aren't one or two though...

I'd love to see something like Logo or MIT's Scratch for the iPad. As I think about introducing my kids to computers that totally makes sense. This new language from Apple seems to preclude that. It is totally off base.

This looks to be two things: a way of discovering ips and communicating them without STUN and a simple nat traversal using UDP. Th first is a little clever but not super interesting as signalling channels are a dime a dozen. The second is e

I just bought it ($0.99) and it is pretty cool. It feels very physical. However, there is some noise in the accelerometer that causes some slight jiggling as you hold it. (Perhaps my phone is starting to die -- I wouldn't doubt it.) Som

The source doesn't break out EECS from the rest of MIT. To be fair, though, this looks to be really long term data. If you dig into the numbers ( http://gradeinflation.com/MIT.html ) things look a lot more steady over the last 30 years.

The XBox 360 may be a great machine and have great software (I have friends that have worked on it) but from a business perspective it is a disaster. It is pretty clear that Microsoft will never make up for the billions that were sunk into

Actually the whole point of this is to not redirect error pages. If you read the blog post, you'll see that they address this (and privacy concerns). DNS redirection is pretty evil and I'm proud of Google for working against it. (Discla
