I have some trouble understanding this statement: "...willfully infringing on the copyrights of 24 songs by making them available for sharing." How do you infringe a copyright by sharing something? Is sharing tantamount to distributing?

Guys like you are the reason I stopped doing Ruby. The dude who copied the book does seem like a baby in the GitHub dialog. Zed doesn't want you copying his book. Get over it and don't get so defensive and abusive.

You're probably right. Most VCs want a liquidity event. I don't see why YC would be different --- except that they are more like a seed stage incubator than a traditional VC firm. Either way, they want a return, I'd think. To me, startups t

I'd like to narrow the question down to which companies are profitable. Successful and "make it big" are subjective. Profitable isn't. You either are or you aren't. I don't work there or know anyone at the company personally, but I'll start

Without political parties people would still self identify as "conservative" or "liberal". It's human nature. These groups/labels form people's view of self. What we really want to eliminate is the divisive nature of political discourse tha

I disagree for two reasons: 1) Chalk is a paint app that uses touch (finger painting you might say). We've had paint apps that use mice for as long as I can remember (which is the Apple IIC). The translation between dragging your finger on

I made a little canvas demo app myself about a month ago. Works on web or mobile (least on Dolphin Browser in Android). I haven't tested a ton though. http://napnote.com It's more of a concept app to draw on Chipotle or Starbucks napkins

it would be super easy to add support for mouse events. [tutorial] They are attaching events using jQuery's bind method. Like: canvas.bind("touchstart", ... You can add multiple events into bind. To add support for mouse events, you'd just

Seems like a remake of their Draft app with a chalky UI. To really make a mobile web app be cool, it's still gotta work on the web. Otherwise, it's not cool. I'm making that a rule right now. Visiting a URL that says I have to be on an iPad

Interesting. Thanks for the update. So the news is that they are merely toying with the idea of making $49/mo the new "cheap" plan. That would eliminate the free plan (do they still have that?) as well as the $12 and $24 plans.
