I had this idea the other day when dealing with CI and thought it must be dumb because everyone's not already doing it. It would make your CI portable to other runners in future, too.

I was pretty sympathetic to the idea that this must be AOL taking care of customers continuously for decades until that quick mention that you start by downloading a .exe over plain http.

It's such a strange opinion because hybrid vigor[1] is so well known in nature. [1]: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterosis

If git had a visualization command a la [1] built in, that'd suffice. Nothing wrong with asking devs to use a CLI tool, but asking them to edit a DAG without a picture is like demanding they edit a file with ed. [1]: https://

I disagree that there are a lot of editors that can handle files not in RAM. But I'd like one. All I know of is 'less'.

What you're describing sounds like Toki Pona, which ends up very ambiguous because of 120 word vocabulary. Still, here's a contract written in it: https://jonathangabel.com/2012/lipu-lawa-pi-esun-kama/

This explains a mystery I only recently noticed. If a site has preferred ads they'd like to show anyway, maybe it's time for them to pay for hosting the video elsewhere.

TOML is one-to-one with JSON, except allow comments. I like JSON lines format where I can strip comment lines out.

I just like it because it's a rough standard. Not the one I'd choose and, as you point out, ambiguous. But I can expect support in all kinds of random places.

I find it hard to believe you encountered a single key combination when starting to use vi. Maybe you got far enough to see "ctrl-v"? There are 108 unmodified choices before you'd ever need a combination.

I used to think this way until I started helping friends with iphones. There's no concept of local file, just things hosted in different places. My friend couldn't even download an image I hosted at website to their device.
