The salient aspect here is what they're using them for: to drive the price down or up. If I place a bet on the direction of the price pegged to a given type of rock, then borrow millions of those rocks from you, then trade those rocks

You're leaving out the aspect that this was all extremely time sensitive. Those silver posts were no longer relevant to the situation. This video explains exactly what the hedge funds are doing: https://www.youtube.com/

Apparently the reason Robinhood halted purchases of $GME was because they received a middle of the night call from the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) demanding $3 Billion immediately[1]. The NSCC refused to explain exactly

This is fake. It's misinformation to artificially drive up the price of silver, so the hedge funds have more ammo to fight against the $GME short squeeze (hedge funds are long silver). Also helps confirm the media is fake, maybe hedge

My initial thought after reading this is if all $GME shares sold by RobinHood actually exist, or if they're counterfeit copies of someone else's shares. I kind of doubt it considering all the regulation scrutiny recently.

I'd say the difference is that they're doing it over and over.

The author likely used the term "counterfeit" since they're essentially copying the shares and redistributing them as if they represent the same value as the original, just like counterfeit money.

I call BS. If margin were an issue, they could've easily paused that functionality. (just like how they magically paused trading on specific stocks) I'll stick with Occam's razor here. They were trying to appease the hedge fu

If the SEC or any government agency steps in to help Wall St hedge funds at the expense of $GME shareholders, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the entire millennial generation revolt against the current financial system. Th

So in other words, you change the definition of "protesting" based on if it aligns with your personal political viewpoint. They should add this comment in the dictionary under the definition of "cognitive dissonance".

Would be interesting to look at smart watch data to see actual averages. You can tell when a person is sleeping by watching their motion activity (obviously) in combination with a drop in heart rate.

I recently read "Why we sleep" by Matthew Walker (pretty good book overall). He provides evidence that states the ideal amount of daily sleep is between 7-8 hours. Any more or less is detrimental to overall health.

The CEO of Nasdaq is owned by those hedge funds. Just like Janet Yellen is owned by them[1]. Halting trading would cause the price to plummet, and the Hedge funds would save billions. THIS is why they're calling for a trading halt. ht

FYI by your own logic, you have no right to be upset about the RobinHood GME situation. Per your own logic, RobinHood is a private company, and they can do whatever they want...If you don't like it, you can build your own RobinHood!
