If you think Objective-C++ is a bonafide language in its own right rather than what it clearly is -- a convenience to use two very different languages together -- then there is no point trying to debate with you further.

You can write Objective-C and C++ in the same source file, even mixing them in the same line of code, and it compiles together, but no one can say these are not two very different languages.

This has nothing to do with bikeshedding, it is a genuine misunderstanding of these two languages that is propagated in this way. This is not about grammar.

> C/C++ It has been several decades since putting a slash between these two made sense, lumping them together like this. It would be similar to saying something like Java/Scala or ObjectiveC/Swift. These are completely dif

I don't think it hurts their pride at all when they are taking tens of billions from Google so it can be the default search engine on iOS. So they give a little of that back to Google, it's still clear who is doing well in this ar

Is this also in California? Can’t imagine they’re very many places in the world where people behave this way. That is, people with enough wealth and interest in doing this in particular location.

I disagree quite a bit, and in fact the notional value is exactly what you want to measure this, without more information about the trades. The amount of money that is at risk with options is irrelevant because two different option position

More likely, it’s just a misunderstanding of what’s being communicated in this thread. Options are quite complicated and these comments here are rather brief so there’s probably a lot getting lost in the discussion.

The amount of money that is at risk with options is irrelevant because two different option positions with the same overall cost can have completely different risk profiles, which makes the actual value of those options not so interesting.

That’s exactly correct, which is why I find the actual option price not so relevant. Presumably that’s why it’s also reported in the way that it is.

Personally I find the reporting of underlying value more useful than the price paid in puts, since it reflects the asset itself rather than an arbitrary price for an option that could be any of many different strikes or expirations. The opt

Just depends on how the manufacturer of the GPU handles code written in different languages. For example, what level of API access, what level of abstraction, and how is the source compiled i.e. how optimized is it. For example, on an apple

Kotlin has lot of similar type inference as Swift (and is in fact 80% syntax identical, though this is just a point of trivia), so I wonder why Kotlin doesn't get this "type-checker cannot compile this expression" error like

Kotlin, which has very similar syntax and language goals as swift, though a different runtime of course, does it also suffer from long compilation times for some expressions due to type checking?
