For those of you with postgres apps, you can avoid this pretty much universally with cockroach db (they have a serverless version they host) It takes basically no work moving from postgres, even postgres dump works.

ELI5: The atmosphere is pushing back against you, like how you feel wind when you run, but as you go higher in the air there is less of it to push back against you, so at a certain point the push back is less.

This could be prevented by posting wait times for the next set of trains clearly on the entrances, on most stations is only available inside the gates. New york does this but san francisco hates you, so they dont.
