Correct. Users don't need any color tricks to associate SMS with reduced functionality.

You had to put a link in your profile that contained "%n", and the client would replace %n with the screen name of the person clicking the link. They never took that away as long as I was using AIM, but there was no way to see any

A power user wouldn't (shouldn't) expect a device merely using USB for power to pop up anything on the PC it's plugged into. That would be a dead giveaway that it's doing something it shouldn't be doing.

You have to realize that it was never meant to be a security measure. It's only there to identify the device to the host system.

I believe medical examiners make that determination based off the police report in cases like this. So if the cops said it was an accident, and the ME finds that the accidental injury was the cause of death, then it's an accidental dea

Which is a good thing, if you think about it. It means that the vast majority of people who have no desire to play Blu-ray movies on their PC don't have to foot the bill for licensing.

If binning of CPUs were disallowed, it would result in even more e-waste because any imperfect chips would have to be tossed out instead of sold with fewer cores enabled. Bad example.

Ignoring the fact that USB-C to Lightning cables exist, how in the world does a little power brick and cable make a "significant difference" to what you can take with you?

This is what Notaries are for. Maybe we could find a way to more efficiently utilize their services instead of creating yet another federal agency to intrude on our lives?

I deal with applications that run multiple instances. To support that, it would require either an affinity cookie to "stick" the session to a single instance (which could go down at any time based on load) or a centralized session

You don't have to believe that every government in the West is lying about it. You just have to believe that one government (the one who did it) is lying, and the rest don't know because they weren't told.

I understand and agree with what you're getting at, but having both [1] and [2] would be impossible. Without DRM, there's no way you could "lend" a digital copy to someone and remove your ability to use it.

Trump was banned from Twitter because the people running it absolutely hated him and everything he stood for, and being on his way out of office they figured it was time to make the move that they had been wanting to make for years.
