As a side effect, if you're legit, not a spammer but are new to HN (0 karma), then maybe one of the paths to getting an RMS is to be able to convince at least 1 non-new HN member with enough karma to stake their reputation and post an RMS o

Title makes me not bother clicking. I hate people who love to declare that things are dead. Fundamentally it's much easier to talk shit about someone's creation than it is to actually create something.

This meetup is special; during this meetup, we'll be taking a short field trip to a very cool co-working slash startup incubator, clean tech, etc. building that is a 5 minute walk away. Note: may be our new "home" (esp. if we keep growing).

I've heard non-programming web designers say, "I've designed this app. Now all I need is to have it coded up" (as though the back-end is merely icing on cake and that the heavy lifting is already done). disclaimer: I'm mostly a back-end per

Hey Kartik, I remember when I first got to know you before you took that job. Your story reminds me of when Evan Williams (Blogger) was the only person left, and he was just stitching it all by himself, no money, etc. But he had users. I se

Specific to you, I think you just added value to yourself even though you failed at trying to code because the act of trying to learn how to code itself made you discover that it's not as easy as it looks for just anybody, and thus make you

Thanks Edan, I'm looking to see how I can implement this just for HN, for the 1st MVP. To accomplish this, I need a way to test if a URL has already has been posted to HN or not, which is kinda tricky http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17
