Surprising that it took this long to introduce the middle finger as a standard character. Emails will never be the same again.

The more interesting question is: How many "professional" economists lost their jobs, or at least the esteem of their industry, for not seeing the housing bubble?

I live in Japan and the Japanese government, under its Abenomics movement, decided on another round of QE and injected 20% more currency into the market earlier this year. I get that the yen is too strong and needs to weaken in order to pro

Well the US is exporting its debt (counterintuitive as that sounds) overseas by buying goods made abroad. If I recall correctly 40% of US currency is actually outside the country.

I agree that people should get into real assets but this sounds a lot like it's okay to beat your kids in order to train them to run faster.

Gold is special. It's easier to carry than a barrel of oil, and stays fresher longer than a bunch of corn or wheat. That's why gold tends to get used as money over and over in history. But you're right about one thing... in

Inflation can take a long time to trickle out from the major banks and lending institutions and down to businesses and finally down to average consumers. What no economist can tell you though is how those irrational consumers will truly beh

I would invite you to look at gold prices over the last 20 years. I only wish I could go back in time and tell my 20 year old self to buy lots of it back when it was in the $300/toz range. Right now it's sitting pretty at $1351&#x

Every fiat currency in history has failed. http://www.caseyresearch.com/editorial.php?page=articles/tho... What makes the US$ so special? And each time, people go back to something tangible to call money. That's

How does a government pay the interest on the money the fed prints for it though? The government can't print its own money so technically there is no way out of debt, except perhaps its creditors letting it off the hook in full. The U

You have a lot of learning to do my friend. Inflation steals purchasing power away from people who contributed their labor to the market in exchange for the money they received. The cash hoarding that inflation is supposed to solve continue

What people don't always remember is that having a single boss means having a single person in charge of your fate. Having 10,000 bosses/direct customers dilutes that power greatly. Individually, none of them have any power over

I'm still a novice to Bitcoin but I thought the lure of it was so that there is no way to track/audit money transactions in as far as who was involved. The top screenshot seems to show such an audit trail. I hope it is stored on

Well I'm certain the internet as we know it today is largely a result of Linux being free. Imagine the costs of getting a service oriented internet company up and running in a world where the only choice is Windows and IIS. I wonder ho

This is true to an extent. I once lived in a condo suite with free heat and hot water. My showers were longer than they would've been had I been paying for each drop. But I still believe the merits of abundance outweigh the demerits.

It is difficult to convince people that an abundance economy can work. But these very people don't understand that they are currently enjoying one abundance right now: Free air. The question is: How many things can we make as abundant

How is GDP a measure of wealth? It's a measure of how much money is spent back and forth and not much else. Some consider this money moving to be "progress" but it actually only highlights how many problems a society's p

Indeed. What scares me is the idea of a cop at a random checkpoint forcing your finger onto your iPhone against your will to gain access to its contents. A password is so much better in such a scenario.

Biometrics aren't secrets and cannot replace passwords but they can compliment them perhaps. For instance, I can think of identical twins who don't want the other to see their private photos etc...

Personally my biggest peeve with iOS 7 is its status bar overlapping the main screen/view instead of pushing it down 20px. It has created a lot of work for me to put things back where they belong.
